Infant and toddler birthdays
your child’s first birthday is really more for you than it is for the baby, your child does not know what’s going on and you still can’t believe a whole year has gone by and that you survived!!!
Having a party at home with some close friends and family is always a good idea but if you insist on having a big party, here are some survival tips…
Try planning the party in the morning or late afternoon. Having guests come around 10:30am allows plenty of time to visit, eat, presents and then NAP TIME!
Having a party go over 2 hours can really take a toll on you.

Planning your child’s 2nd birthday is a little more exciting…
Again, planning an A.M or late afternoon birthday is a great idea to ensure that you do not interfere with someone’s nap time and keeping it at the 2 hour time limit is plenty enough for you as well as the other parent’s. Simple foods are always a good idea; veggies, crackers, cheese, and finger foods.
As for activities, it’s always a good idea to have plenty of crafts on hand. (I know my 2 year old does not like to share). Colouring, stickers, Lego are some good ideas.
